Central governor said: We did not allow the development of Shazand power plant and the final solution is to close the power plant with this very old technology.

According to Energy Press report, “Farzad Mokhlas Al-Aimeh”, Central Governor at the fifth meeting of the province’s health forum, stating that in an unbalanced development process, industry has led to pollution, he said: the problem of air pollution exists in all industrial cities of the world and inside the country. which has led to climate change in a certain scale.

Referring to the serious contribution of Shazand power plant in air pollution in the center of the province, he added: This power plant was established in 1974, and at the same time, its technology level was inappropriate and backward, and now no power plant is being built with this technology, while it is in the position It was built in an inappropriate place and in the direction of the wind towards the population center, and this location was definitely done with negligence or treachery.

Stating that the pollution issue of Shazand power plant has been seriously discussed since the early 1990s, he said: This year, with the efforts of the Gas Province and Country Company, the power plant entered the diesel circuit one month later, and for the first time before changing the fuel source, in a statement The challenges of power plant fuel supply were explained to the public.

Mokhlas Al-Aima emphasized: In the field of energy, apart from the gasoline issue, we are facing three conflicts in the fields of electricity, gas, and diesel; Because, unfortunately, the consumption of the country is unbalanced in all areas and this is a deep-rooted category.

Request to reduce the production capacity of the power plant to 50%

The senior director of the government in the central province added: The control of energy imbalance in the areas of gasoline, gas, electricity and oil gas (diesel) is planned at the national level, and no province, either in the executive or judicial sectors, has the possibility to enter into this issue independently.

He emphasized: We appreciate the concern of environmental activists, but environmental issues are tied to several other issues and have turned from a linear equation into a multifaceted equation that is not specific to the issue of power plants. There are many issues in the country that have been neglected for many years. It has been and now it is not possible to reach a solution except with a correct coherence and synergy.

The Central Governor stated that currently, in order to reduce fuel consumption, a quarter of the capacity of Shazand power plant has been taken out of operation, and said: Our request is to remove another unit from operation, to reduce production capacity to 50% and to increase gas injection. in order to reduce the intensity of pollution, in other words, the pollution of the power plant is now less than last year, but no amount of fuel burning is in the interest of the people and even the power plant.

The ultimate solution is to shut down the power plant with very old technology

The central governor stated that everyone knows that this problem did not arise overnight and that several industrial cities are struggling with it, and that we have been faced with this environmental challenge until today, adding: as a citizen who lives with his family in We live and travel in this weather, and for the sake of executive responsibility, we are dissatisfied with this situation like all sympathizers, and we are trying to contain and find a scientific and practical solution.

Mokhlas Al-Aimeh admitted: We did not allow the development of the Shazand power plant, and the final solution is to close the power plant with this very old technology, which must be solved, and at the same time, he worked comprehensively to optimize and increase the efficiency of energy carriers.

He called the move towards the use of renewable energy as a basic solution to the challenge of electricity shortage and added: In Central Province, about 6 constructions have been designated for renewable energy and the country’s largest solar power plant in Mahalat city will soon be put into operation. It alone increases the country’s solar electricity production by about 10%.

The Central Governor emphasized: Big industries are obliged to provide part of their electricity needs, and Arak Aluminum Factory is also obliged to build a solar power plant and provide electricity from other sources.
