The series of successive fires continues;

For mini-refineries, safety does not mean anything

For mini-refineries, safety does not mean anything
Last year, mini-refineries were the hot topic of oil news with the issue of feed rent, but this year, mini-refineries returned to the top of the news with successive fires.

According to Energy Press, since the beginning of the year, several mini-refineries have burned down and several workers have had accidents. It was in July that the news of the fire in the Aftab oil mini-refinery due to non-observance of safety principles was reported in the media. The prosecutor of Hormozgan, during his visit to Aftab, announced the filing of a judicial case regarding this incident, although the results of those investigations were not informed later by the judiciary.

A few weeks later, in August, another mini-refinery caught fire, this time in Darud industrial town of Lorestan. The Director General of Lorestan Crisis Management announced that the primary cause of the accident was the heating of the factory’s fuel tanks. But this was not the end of the story, on the morning of Sunday, December 19, a mini-refinery caught fire in Birjand, a mini-refinery that has not yet been opened for a year is now burning in the flames!

The wave of fire was so widespread that the firemen did not succeed in extinguishing it due to lack of safety and equipment. The crisis reached the point where all the surrounding areas were evacuated to prevent accidents and casualties. This mini-refinery burned for two whole days until it was extinguished! The scale of the disaster was such that the Minister of Interior went to Birjand to manage the crisis and prevent casualties.
