7% increase in gas feed of Iranian petrochemicals
The managing director of National Gas Company of Iran announced in the group of managing directors of petrochemical companies that they are trying to provide maximum gas for petrochemical units.

According to Energy Press, Majid Chegani, CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran, in the “special meeting of the senior managers of the petrochemical industry with the aim of achieving a jump in production with the participation of the people”, said: I started my career in the oil industry with petrochemicals and consider myself a part of the big family of the industry. I know petrochemicals and I am familiar with the concerns and challenges of this industry.

He added: “Petrochemistry is not comparable to any other industry. It is a leading industry that we should see in the petrochemical industry the realization of this year’s slogan, which, according to the Supreme Leader, has been named the year of production leap with the participation of the people.”

Stating that the petrochemical industry is a definite advantage of the country’s economic development, the deputy minister of oil said: We must make optimal use of this advantage and the country’s potential capacities with proper planning and policies.

He continued: “We still could not reach the desired point in the discussion of completing the value chain, and part of the fault lies with the government sector, which in different governments has not been able to create the necessary attractions for investing in the petrochemical value chain, so that capital is directed to this sector.”

The CEO of the National Gas Company stated that he understands the concern of petrochemical companies regarding the limitation of gas supply in the cold season of the year and we are aware of the conditions of this industry, and said: a series of plans and actions are beyond our will, this is not the case with satisfaction to limit the supply of gas to industries and petrochemicals, but despite the fact that we are among the first-tier countries in the world in terms of the amount of gas injected into the network, due to the high consumption of gas in the non-productive sector and the suboptimal consumption of gas in the productive sectors, including various industries and power plants In the cold days of the year, we are forced to limit the supply of gas to industries.

He added: “In the peak of winter gas consumption, sometimes more than 70% of the gas injected into the network is consumed in non-productive sectors, and we are forced to distribute less than 30% of the remaining among industries, power plants, petrochemicals, etc.

In response to a question about the 8-month gas supply contract for petrochemicals in 1403, Chegani said: Although we are required to supply gas for 8 months according to the contract, we consider our criteria to be 12 months of gas supply for petrochemicals and during the 4 cold months of the year. If needed, gasification is limited to petrochemicals.

Chegani announced the effort to provide maximum gas for petrochemical units and said: In the cold 4 months of 1402, compared to the same time of the previous year, there was a 12% increase in the gas supply of petrochemical plants, and in total, in 1402, with the supply of 24 4 million cubic meters of gas for petrochemical units, compared to the supply of 22.8 million cubic meters in 1401, we have had a 7% growth in this sector.
