Iran produced 2.6 million barrels per day in the first quarter of last year and 3.18 million barrels per day in the fourth quarter of this year.

With an increase of 630,000 barrels of oil production over the past year, Iran has set a record for the increase in production among OPEC members during this period. Gabon, Nigeria and Venezuela have been the only OPEC members to increase production over the past year. The production of Gabon has increased by 10 thousand, Nigeria by 40 thousand and Venezuela by 90 thousand barrels per day.

According to this report, with the increase in oil production, Iran has been able to regain its lost position among the major OPEC producers step by step. While Iran fell to the fifth place in OPEC in the first quarter of last year, in the first quarter of 2024, after Saudi Arabia and the UAE, Iran was the third largest OPEC producer.
