The CEO of Tehran Bozor Electric Power Distribution Company said: 25% of household electricity bills issued in Tehran have been free since the beginning of June.

According to Energy Press, Kambiz Nazerian stated that 75% of Tehran electricity subscribers, including three million and 500,000 subscribers, have household tariffs and said: Out of the total of one million and 200,000 household electricity bills issued in Tehran since the beginning of June, 580 1000 invoices are subject to consumption reduction bonus, and 25% of the issued bills are issued with zero Rials, including the allocated bonus.

He added: 300 to 350 megawatts of excess energy is needed to supply electricity to the city of Tehran during peak hours, and providing this amount of energy for limited hours through the construction of a power plant has no technical and economic justification, and it is necessary to manage the load and distribute the process correctly. Consumption, electricity consumption during peak hours should be adjusted and corrected.

Appreciating the valuable cooperation of Tehrani citizens in managing electricity consumption, Nazerian pointed out that this year, in addition to rial bonuses applied on electricity bills, there are also many prizes such as cars and household appliances to subscribers who can at least 15% reduction of their electricity consumption will be donated. Due to the significant increase in air temperature, the customer of Khan Tehrani is asked to cooperate in managing electricity consumption and refrain from using high-consumption electrical equipment during peak hours.
