What happened to the elitist output of Sanat Naft University?
According to the exclusive report of Energy Press, the importance of Iran Oil Industry University is enough that the first vice president, during the induction ceremony of the Minister of Oil, mentioned the upgrading of the faculties of this university as one of the important tasks of the ministry, along with issues such as solving energy imbalances, developing joint fields and increasing oil export production. and put gas. Mohammadreza Aref said in this regard: It should be kept in mind that the oil and gas resources in the country are from Anfal, and our duty is to protect this Anfal, and it can be well protected when, in addition to employing the prominent forces of this ministry, in line with their promotion and taking advantage of elite, young and new forces.
But in order to understand the importance of the emphasis of the first vice president, it is necessary to know more about this university, its history and the services it has provided to Iran’s oil industry. Educational activities at the highest levels in Iran’s oil industry were officially established in 1318 with the establishment of Abadan Technical College. it started With the development of this school, its name was changed to Abadan Technical College and then to Abadan Oil College. From 1335 to 1341, this educational complex was renamed several times from Abadan Technical College to Abadan Oil College, and following this, the fields they covered were also changed. would be In 1368, after the end of war conditions in the country, with the issuance of a license to establish the University of Oil Industry by the Ministry of Culture and Higher Education, all educational institutions in the Ministry of Oil were covered by the university.
Currently, Sanat Naft University has four faculties and four research centers. These scientific centers are:
Abadan Oil College
Ahvaz Oil College
Tehran Oil College
Mahmoodabad Marine Science Faculty
Research Center of Naft Abadan Faculty
Ahvaz Oil Faculty Research Center
Tehran Oil Faculty Research Center
Offshore Oil and Gas Industry Research Center, Mahmudabad Marine Sciences Faculty
After several decades of the activity of this university, what is clear is the sharp decrease in the output of the elites of the oil field from the educational complex affiliated to one of the most strategic ministries of the country. But what changes have occurred in this university from the past to the present? Dr. Hossein Mirafazli, an oil expert, says about the vacancy of foreign professors: “In the past, the professors of this university came directly from abroad. All students were also given scholarships and very high ranks could get the quota to attend this university. But in recent years, there are no more foreign professors.”
It seems that the academic and job security that used to exist for the students of these faculties has now disappeared. Dr. Moghadasi, a faculty member of the Faculty of Oil Industry, who himself entered the university in 1966, says about this notable loss: “An important point was about the entry and exit of students from the university. I myself entered the year 1366 and I joined the stock market from the first day. On the other hand, in the third and fourth semesters, I knew what kind of job I would have because my work situation would be determined with my education, but this job and work security has been denied to students in recent years. Which will certainly have an impact on the academic load of the university.”
