Water crisis in Iranian dams; only 43 percent of reservoir capacity is full
Currently, despite 22.2 billion cubic meters of water stored in the country's dams, 43 percent of the dam reservoirs' capacity is full and 57 percent of this capacity is empty.

According to Energy Press, in the first 315 days of the current water year (from the beginning of Mehr 1403 to the 11th of Mordad 1404), a total of 23 billion and 260 million cubic meters of water entered Iran’s dams, which is a 42% decrease compared to the 40 billion and 200 million cubic meters of water entering the dams during the same period of the previous water year. Also, during this period, in order to provide drinking water, agriculture, industry and environmental issues, 25 billion and 500 million cubic meters of water have been released from the country’s dams, which is a 21% decrease compared to the 32 billion and 410 million cubic meters of water output during the same period of the previous water year.
