US Treasury sanctions CEO of National Iranian Oil Company
The US Treasury and State Departments, continuing Washington's maximum pressure campaign against Tehran, jointly placed the names of several individuals and companies related to Iran's oil industry on the sanctions list.
According to Energy Press, the new round of sanctions by the US Departments of State and Treasury against Iran’s oil export sector is the first joint step in their new maximum pressure campaign against Iran.
The US Department of Treasury has sanctioned 16 entities and vessels, while the State and Treasury departments have jointly sanctioned 22 other individuals and 13 vessels, said Tommy Bruce, a spokesman for the US Department of State.
