According to Energy Press, Bahman Abdullahi, head of Iran’s Chamber of Cooperation, in a meeting with Saif Mohammad Al-Zoabi, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Iran, introduced the capabilities of the cooperation sector in Iran and said: “Cooperation has an important and effective place in Iran, and a significant part of production in Our country is run by cooperatives.
Abdullahi added: Cooperatives play an important role in the production of agricultural products, and we are trying to create a field for exporting cooperative products to the Persian Gulf countries, especially the UAE.
He said: About 65 percent of agricultural products in the country are produced by cooperatives, which is considered a good capacity to meet the needs of the UAE.
The head of Iran’s Cooperative Chamber stated: There are high capacities in the cooperative sector in other economic fields such as petrochemical, industrial, fisheries, tourism, etc., and also the wide distribution network with more than 7 thousand distribution stores across the country, an important capacity for It is the distribution of products of that country.
He added: In Iran, more than 30 million people benefit from the services of consumer cooperatives, and it is a big market for the export of UAE products.
Abdullahi said: We are in contact with national cooperative organizations in other countries and we are trying to establish a relationship with the cooperative trustee organization in the UAE.
In another part of this meeting, the head of the Iran Cooperative Chamber, referring to the capacities of the World Cooperative Union and the membership of the Iranian Cooperative Chamber in the Board of Directors (ICA), said: More than 110 countries are members of this union and more than 1.2 billion people of the world population. covers.
He said: Due to the closeness and extensive interactions between Iran and the UAE, the Iran Chamber of Cooperatives, as a member of the board of directors of the World Cooperative Union, has a mission to work for the development of cooperatives in the United Arab Emirates, and we are interested in transferring the experiences of cooperatives to the economic activists of the UAE. do.
Abdallahi stated: Cooperatives play an important role in the economy of countries worldwide, so that only the top 300 ICA cooperatives have a turnover of more than 2.4 trillion dollars.
