According to Energy Press, Abbas Aliabadi visited the booths of companies active in this field today, Saturday, on the last day of the 20th specialized and international exhibition of water industry and water and wastewater facilities.
On the sidelines of the International Water Industry Exhibition, in response to ISNA’s question about the support and role of the private sector in addressing the challenges of the Ministry of Energy, he stated: Supporting the private sector to attract capital depends on making the environment attractive and reducing investment risk, and the Ministry of Energy’s plan is to implement policies in this direction.
He added: We should provide them with managed risks and eliminate risks that can be managed; so that the government plays a role in these sectors and by creating appropriate markets, we will provide space for the private sector to make sufficient use of its capital.
According to the Minister of Energy, we are seeking to create mechanisms so that the private sector can reduce risk and also make reasonable profits. Now this sector has entered the water and electricity industry, so that there are more than 35 thousand megawatts of volunteers for investment in the electricity sector.
This year’s water budget has not reached us
The Minister of Energy stated that the country’s water sector plans have been fully specified and that we have submitted requests for financing emergency and priority water sector projects to the Cabinet and the Planning Organization, and said: Some of these requests are in the approval stage, but we are still far from the target point of receiving the required financial resources.
He added: This year’s water sector budget, which was approved last year, has not yet reached us, and we have received less than half of it, even though we are in the final months of the year.
Aliabadi stated that in the water sector, in the water desalination and recycling sectors, we have serious policies to support the private sector, and added: “We also have programs on the agenda in the drinking sector. Of course, there have been benefactors in this field in the past. In the investment sector, we are also trying to develop the amount of capital and activities by creating a mechanism.”
