The University of Petroleum Industry launched clinics to fix defects in wells and fields

According to Energy Press, citing the University of Petroleum Industry, Mohammad Reza Khosravi Niko, in an interview with Khabar Network today (Saturday, December 12) and coinciding with Research Week, stated that the University of Petroleum Industry is the second oldest university in the country after the University of Tehran, and stated: This university began its activities in 1939 with the main mission of training specialists for the oil industry, and today the university has the highest retention rate of graduates in the oil industry.
Referring to the importance of research in the oil industry, he added: Correct and effective research increases productivity, reduces costs, manages environmental challenges, reduces dependence on foreign technologies, and confronts the effects of sanctions. For this reason, research at the University of Petroleum Industry is pursued in a targeted and problem-oriented manner.
Solving real problems of the oil industry is the university’s priority
The president of the University of Petroleum Industry, emphasizing the difference in the mission of this university from other universities, said: Our focus is not only on publishing articles, but rather on solving real problems of the oil industry. In this regard, specialized clinics for fixing defects in oil fields and wells have been launched to scientifically and operationally resolve problems such as asphaltene precipitation, increased production of water with oil in old fields, and reduced well production.
