The seizure of Iranian tankers is not true

According to Energy Press, Esmail Baghaei stated in a press conference today (Monday, March 10) in response to a question about the issue of negotiations with the United States: Negotiations under conditions or approaches based on domination, bullying, and pressure are fundamentally meaningless, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has expressed its position very clearly in this regard. Iran has never closed the door to negotiations in the true and proper sense of the word. However, we do not accept a proposal for negotiations that is based on intimidation and threats, and we do not consider it negotiations in principle.
Regarding the claims made by Reuters about stopping Iranian oil tankers, he said: This news agency has repeatedly violated professional principles and reduced its reporting to part of a social deception campaign regarding Iran and issues in the West Asian region, and in many cases has attempted to produce or publish untrue, false, or biased news regarding issues in our region and related to Iran, and these claims are not new.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, pointing out that the stopping of ships is completely unacceptable in terms of international law and the UN Charter, stated: “There is no basis for any action against free trade and commercial ships of countries in open waters, and this claim is a media creation that is unfortunately being carried out. Iran’s maritime trade is a completely legitimate and legal trade, and we will certainly continue our activities in accordance with the provisions of international law.”
