The Prime Minister of Malaysia denied the claim of transferring the ship to the Iranian oil ship
The Prime Minister of Malaysia announced that there is no evidence of the transfer of a ship to an Iranian sanctioned oil ship in Malaysian waters.
According to Energy Press, a senior official of the US Treasury Department claimed last week that Iran’s capacity to transfer oil depends on service providers in Malaysia.
Brian Nelson, the Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence, said: One of the ways Iran makes money is through the illegal sale of oil to buyers in East Asia. Many of these cargoes pass through the waters around Malaysia and are loaded onto ships that may pose major environmental and safety risks.
According to a Reuters report, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said at an economic event in Qatar: Malaysia does not have the capacity to monitor ship-to-ship transfers in international waters.
