The poor bear the brunt of gasoline consumption. In the most optimistic scenario, the gasoline imbalance will reach 16 million liters by 1410
According to Energy Press, Abbas Kazemi, former CEO of the National Petroleum Products Refining and Distribution Company, said: “We produce 4% of the world’s gasoline production, while we have 1.1% of the world’s population, and our GDP is 0.4 of the world’s GDP.” He added: “Assuming that the current trend continues, the average gasoline consumption in the country in 1410 (with an optimistic assumption of an average annual growth of 6%) will reach 172 million liters per day, which will lead to a deficit of 16 million liters per day if production increase plans are implemented.” Kazemi said: “Low-income classes in society consume more gasoline than high-income classes because their work and jobs require gasoline due to their economic conditions.”
