The petrochemical industry does not wait for foreign companies to develop

According to Energy Press, Morteza Shahmirzaei congratulated the engineers and specialists, especially the workers of this company, at the ceremony celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company. He said: 20 years of growth of the petrochemical industry since 1337, from the beginning of the implementation of the first petrochemical project in Iran to 1357. It was very small in the country, so that the capacity of the petrochemical industry was about 3 million tons with a product variety of 8 to 9 types with complete dependence on design, provision of equipment and start-up before the Islamic revolution.
He pointed to the high ability of Iranian experts and added: Imam Port will achieve the goal of completing the value chain and diversifying production with the ability of these experts.
The Deputy Minister of Oil emphasized: In the future, Iran’s petrochemical industry is one of the most prosperous industries in the world, because the country has the main components of the development of this industry, namely abundant feed, specialized manpower, and access to water resources and beaches.
Shahmirzaei stated that by 2050 the consumption of fossil carriers in the field of fuel will be limited in the world and despite the oil and gas reserves, these resources should be directed as feed for the development of the petrochemical industry, and said: Today, more than 550 grades of petrochemical products are produced in the country. According to the plan, by the end of the 8th development plan, the annual capacity will exceed 180 million tons.
Emphasizing that we welcome foreign investment, he stated: We will not wait for foreign companies to develop this industry and we will develop this industry with domestic power.
The CEO of the National Petrochemical Industry Company, pointing out that we are proud in this industry despite the sanctions, said: 95% of the future industries will depend on the products of the petrochemical industry, so the development of this industry is very important.
