The people of Khuzestan province have the biggest share in breathing flare gas!
According to the report of the Energy Commission of the Majlis, 80% of flaring occurs in Khuzestan, Bushehr and Hormozgan provinces, and the people of these provinces receive the most contamination from flaring.
According to Energy Press, in a report, the Parliament’s Energy Commission investigated flared gases in burners and wrote that about 42 million cubic meters of gas are smoked on flares every day.
Khuzestan province’s share of “burning gas” is more than other provinces, so that 24% of flared gases are allocated to Khuzestan province.
Bushehr province with a share of 20% and Hormozgan with a share of 15% are in the second and third ranks of the ranking of the amount of flaring.
The provinces of Kohkalviyeh and Boyer Ahmad are ranked next with 5% of Iran’s gas flaring each.
