The necessary permits for the South Pars pressure boosting project have not yet been obtained

The necessary permits for the South Pars pressure boosting project have not yet been obtained
First, the authorities should have obtained the necessary permits for this purpose and then proceeded to sign the contract. However, the pressure-increasing contract has already been signed but the necessary permits have not yet been obtained, and this will lead to a prolonged pressure-increasing process.

According to Energy Press, Mehran Moradali, an expert at the Majlis Research Center, pointed out that Iranian oil industry officials have planned to take steps to increase pressure in South Pars in recent years and said: “Merely planning to increase pressure cannot lead us to our goal, but in addition to planning, efforts must also be made.” He continued: “First, the officials should have obtained the necessary permits for this purpose and then signed a contract. However, the contract for increasing pressure has already been signed, but the necessary permits have not yet been obtained, and this will lead to a prolonged increase in pressure.” Emphasizing that the South Pars gas field is not the only supplier of gas to Iran, but it is Iran’s largest shared gas field, Moradali stated: “The Qataris have taken all the necessary measures to increase gas pressure, and this, along with Iran’s procrastination, will result in Iran having no gas left in the not-so-distant future.” This energy expert continued: “South Pars not only supplies the country with gas, but the gas condensates produced in this field also supply a significant portion of the country’s gasoline, and even a portion of these condensates is exported. If the authorities do not think about increasing the pressure on the South Pars field sooner, we will definitely face serious problems in exporting gas condensates and producing gasoline, because one of the largest refineries in the country is currently operating with South Pars gas condensates.”
