The National Oil Company owes the National Development Fund $17 billion

According to Energy Press, Mehdi Ghazanfari told reporters: The National Oil Company currently owes about $17 billion to the National Development Fund, directly and indirectly (guaranteeing the receipt of facilities).
He emphasized that it should be noted that if, according to the new procedure of the National Development Fund, these debts start to return and move towards settlement, the aforementioned resources will be reinvested in oil projects, and this will benefit the National Iranian Oil Company.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund concluded: Basically, with this process, the debtors of the National Development Fund will be released from the state of being restricted from receiving the Fund’s resources.
In this regard, Saleh, a member of the Board of Directors of the National Development Fund, also said: A coordination has been made with the oil company in this regard, namely the repayment of past debts. Accordingly, we will first start investing in upstream oil fields, and any amount that is repaid will be reinvested in oil projects.
