According to Energy Press, quoted by the National Iranian Gas Company, Saeed Tavakoli on Monday evening at the first meeting of energy supply management in the winter of 2024, which was attended by the vice-chairman of the 90th principle committee of the Majlis, the deputy minister of the interior for construction and development of urban and rural affairs, the CEO of Palaysh Company. and the distribution of Iranian petroleum products, the Deputy Minister of Power for Electricity and Energy Affairs, the Director General of Energy Management of the Planning Deputy of the Ministry of Petroleum and the relevant managers of the National Gas Company of Iran, stated: Considering the imbalance in energy production and consumption in the country, the cooperation between Organizations in charge of this issue can prevent future crises and for this purpose, arrangements and measures have been foreseen.
While explaining the current situation in the gas production and processing sector and the plans made in order to maximize production, he continued: All the efforts of the oil industry complex and especially the National Iranian Gas Company is to increase the reliability in refineries and gas transmission facilities.
Referring to the round-the-clock efforts of the employees in the timely maintenance and repairs of the equipment and pipelines of the National Gas Company of Iran in line with the optimal service to all sectors in the winter, the Deputy Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs announced: Since gas has a major share in the country’s energy portfolio, It is necessary to use all the capacities of the country for sustainable production.
While describing the short-term measures and long-term plans of the gas industry to solve the existing obstacles and problems, Tavakli stated: Optimizing gas consumption in the country requires national coordination and determination, which can only be achieved through the management of optimal gas consumption in all sectors and the strict implementation of existing laws such as the topic 19 National Building Regulations, it can be achieved.
He pointed to the holding of the first meeting of the winter fuel committee of this company and said: planning and coordination for maximum gas transmission with the approach of stable maintenance of the network in the cold period of the year and increasing the level of intra-organizational cooperation to prevent obstacles in the way of providing services to the people are among the most important topics. The CEO of the National Gas Company of Iran further spoke about three important measures in the field of gas consumption optimization and announced: by launching the energy and environment optimization market in the energy exchange and starting the transactions of gas saving certificates and the luck of investors from this project, this possibility will be provided. It will be done so that they can participate in optimization plans with more knowledge and confidence and benefit from its benefits.
In the end, Tavakli also mentioned the cooperation between Iran and Russia in the form of the agreement to transfer gas from Russia to Iran and said: the implementation of this agreement will cause Iran to become the regional gas hub in the future, in addition to increasing Iran’s share in the global gas trade.
