The Ministry of Energy warned about the use of unauthorized miners

According to Energy Press, with the arrival of the hot seasons and the concerns related to the increase in electricity consumption in the country, the activities of miners as cryptocurrency mining devices that consume very high electricity have added to the concerns. In addition, the high power consumption of these devices puts pressure on the power supply network, causing voltage drop, shutdown and damage to electrical devices in the area of ​​their use.
There are specific rules regarding the use of miner devices in different countries; In such a way that in Iran, except in authorized farms, keeping miner is considered an example of contraband and extracting illegal currency is considered a crime.
Mining or extraction of digital currency requires complex calculations that are performed through miner devices. The high power consumption of these devices also causes damages such as voltage drop, increase in distribution network losses, and occupying the capacity of the power supply network.
Finally, the pressure exerted on the electricity supply network by these devices causes unwanted blackouts for subscribers living in the area of ​​unauthorized miner use.
Penalty for using an unauthorized miner
According to Iran’s laws, a miner without an identification code is recognized as a contraband in the comprehensive trade system, and buying and keeping it is a crime. In case of discovery, the unauthorized mining device will be confiscated by the police and the user will be introduced to the judicial system.
The cost of the device’s energy consumption is also charged to the violator after the calculation by the electricity company, according to the asset password extraction rate.
Of course, it is worth mentioning that the use of miners in authorized cryptocurrency mining centers also has conditions and limitations. For example, cryptocurrency mining farms are allowed to operate only from 2 to 9 in the morning, and their electricity is cut off during other hours of the day and night.
