Member of the Parliament's Energy Commission in an interview with "Energy Press":
The government should save 1,280,000 barrels of fuel per day
According to Energy Press, last year, Oil Minister Javad Oji said in the public forum of the parliament about the necessity of allocating 80 billion dollars to solve the problem of gas imbalance, which was met with strong opposition and reaction from Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf. In an interview with “Energy Press”, Ramzan Ali Sangdwini, a member of the energy committee of the parliament, said about the oil minister’s request to allocate 80 billion dollars in order to resolve the budget mismatch: “There is a discussion about development in this regard.” The oil minister believes that in order to develop the oil and gas fields and to be able to maintain the fields that we are exploiting and extracting so that they will last for the future, he emphasizes that we need 80 billion dollars.
The member of the Parliament’s Energy Commission continued: The best way to finance this budget is to optimize fuel consumption, which is included in the provisions of the 7th Plan.
In response to what exactly is the parliament’s plan to provide this budget, he said: I believe that we can earn 100 billion dollars annually in the country through optimizing fuel consumption.
Sangdovini stated that if my mind helps, the parliament has obliged the government to optimize fuel consumption by one million and 280 thousand barrels per day, and added: If the government does this, we have covered a significant part of the roads well.
He continued: We are a country that consumes a lot of oil, electricity, gas, gasoline, and diesel, and we must save in all these cases. In addition, energy is cheap in our country and this is a correct point.
The representative of the people of Agh Qebal and Gorgan in the parliament continued: We can have a fund from this route and if we optimize fuel consumption, we can allocate its earnings for investment.
