The first phase of water transfer from the sea to Isfahan was completed
Referring to the start of the flood and the arrival of sea water to Isfahan, the spokesperson for the country's water industry said: "The first phase of transferring water from the sea to Isfahan has been completed; in this phase, which has the potential to increase to 70 million cubic meters per year, 40 million cubic meters of water will be made available to industries."

According to Energy Press, Issa Bozorgzadeh said: In order to achieve the major goals of sustainable development and address the environmental and industrial challenges of Isfahan Province, the huge project of transferring water from the sea to this central plateau of Iran is an unprecedented and revolutionary step.
Emphasizing the vital importance of this project, and stating that the use of seawater resources, considering the limitations of renewable water resources and the phenomenon of climate change, is on the agenda of the Ministry of Energy to achieve the goals of the country’s population policies and achieve sustainable development; he called it a fundamental solution for the sustainable supply of industrial water, reducing the withdrawal of domestic water resources and revitalizing the Zayandeh-Rood River.
The spokesperson for the country’s water industry added in this regard: In order to exploit seawater resources, the necessary studies were conducted in the Ministry of Energy to estimate the shortage of water for drinking and industrial uses. Based on the shortages that were counted, a license to allocate seawater was issued in accordance with the provisions of paragraphs 1, 21, and 29 of the Fair Water Distribution Law.
According to Bozorgzadeh, the development of seawater exploitation is in accordance with the provisions of the National Land Planning Document, the Industrial Water Reallocation Law, and the Seventh Progress Plan Law.
According to the Ministry of Energy, he clarified: In paragraph 120, Article 4 of the National Land Planning Document, it is required to “provide the necessary incentives for investment and application of modern technologies in cost-effective desalination projects from seawater to supply industrial water (based on the desired pattern of establishment of activities) to areas located in the hinterland of the southern coast of the country, the central plateau, the eastern strip of the country, islands, and drinking water in areas located in the hinterland of the coasts, taking into account environmental considerations and passive defense.”
The spokesperson for the country’s water industry added: In paragraph 1, paragraph b, article 39 of the Seventh Progress Plan Law, it is mentioned that the water needed by water-absorbing industries, except for the food, health, and drinking industries, is supplied from unconventional water (including wastewater and seawater).
Bozorgzadeh added: “In the combined strategy of the 14th government’s water sector, the use of seawater is considered as one of the solutions to address water imbalances in the context of water management. According to this strategy, the exploitation of seawater is considered in two ways: using raw water and using it after desalination.”
