The debts of the Ministry of Energy made the electricity producers run away
According to official reports, this year, a shortage of nearly 12,000 megawatts of electricity is expected in the hot seasons of the year; A figure that the government is supposed to manage as in previous years through power cuts in industries. Some experts believe that the figures of Natrazi are more than the figures announced by the government, and despite the promise of the Ministry of Energy to increase the power generation capacity, the situation has not only improved, but has also worsened.
Hashem Orei, a professor at Sharif University of Technology, told “Jahansanat” about the electricity shortage this year: The situation is neither getting better nor staying the same, but the situation is getting worse. Last year, the talk was that we have 12,000 megawatts of imbalance, which, of course, I say is a deficit and not imbalance; Because what has been the country’s electricity problem is the shortage, and the word “unalignment” will not reduce its negative burden. This year we are talking about 5 to 6 thousand megawatts in addition to last year’s numbers, that is, we are moving from 12 thousand to 17 to 18 thousand megawatts.
He added: As a result, there will be more electricity problems this year than last year, and these conditions will continue until further notice. In other words, our problem is not only disharmony, but our problem is growing disharmony; That is, the amount of the deficit neither decreases nor remains constant, but increases every year compared to the previous year.
In response to the question whether the Ministry of Energy’s promise to increase the production capacity can solve the problem of dissatisfaction in the following years, Urei said: “The fact is that the Ministry of Energy has not taken any offensive action.” Actions are very shallow, thoughtless and have more of a publicity and show aspect than practical actions. Of course, not much can be done in the short term. Because solving the problem of lack of electricity is a long-term plan, and I believe that we have not yet entered the path of real solution of the problem, but the main issue is why did we get here and why does the situation get worse every year?
Referring to the inconsistency between demand and supply, he said: In the demand side, due to low prices, the problem of optimizing energy consumption remains undecided. As long as the pricing is incorrect and mandated and there is no real electricity market and the Ministry of Energy does not allow the real market to be formed, optimization in the real sense will not be formed at all. As a result, sectors such as industry, agriculture, household and commercial work with very low efficiency; Besides, we will have significant losses in the process of production, transmission and distribution.
