The CEO of the National Gas Company emphasizes the continuation of tariff reform and optimization programs

According to Energy Press, citing the National Iranian Gas Company, Saeed Tavakoli, in a meeting with the CEOs of provincial gas companies, expressed his appreciation for their performance in sustainably passing the winter consumption peak and said: The round-the-clock efforts of gas industry employees and careful network management have ensured that the country’s gas network remains stable during peak consumption days and that unprecedented events in the field of gas transmission and distribution have occurred in different parts of the country.
Referring to the maximum utilization of the capacity of stations and network pressure management in the northern and Sardsir provinces, he added: The experiences of previous years and operational lessons learned have helped improve the management of critical situations this year; it is necessary to document this year’s experiences and turn them into executive plans for the coming years.
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company considered the reform of gas tariffs after many years to be one of the important measures in the energy sector and said: The goal of these reforms is not to increase government revenue, but to reform the consumption pattern and create sensitivity towards energy consumption as a national asset.
Tavakoli continued: “The implementation of this policy has led to a more accurate analysis of subscriber consumption information and has also provided the basis for identifying unconventional consumption, home businesses, and some unregulated developments.”
