Tavakoli: $42 billion investment is projected for the gas industry
He pointed out that the National Iranian Gas Company has taken effective steps today towards efficiency and optimization of energy consumption, adding: "Among the projects implemented in this regard is the pilot of Karvar companies in seven provinces of the country, which, according to predictions, will lead to an increase in energy efficiency of more than 10 percent."

According to Energy Press, Saeed Tavakoli stated today (Monday, November 25) at the International Conference on Financing the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Industry, emphasizing the importance of investment and the need to remove legal and executive obstacles in this direction: In many cases, good strategies are defined, but in the implementation stage we face challenges such as legal and regulatory restrictions.
Pointing out that the National Iranian Gas Company has taken effective steps towards efficiency and optimization of energy consumption, he added: Among the projects implemented in this regard is the pilot of the Carver companies in seven provinces of the country, which, according to forecasts, will lead to an increase in energy efficiency of more than 10 percent.
Improving the efficiency of 4 million 100 thousand boilers
The CEO of the National Iranian Gas Company considered other important measures to be improving the efficiency of boilers and said: There are currently more than 20 million boilers with low efficiency in the country, of which a contract for the supply of 1 million 725 thousand new units has been signed so far and another 300 thousand units will be replaced by the end of the year. According to the resolution of the Economic Council, a total of 4 million 100 thousand units will be covered by this plan.
Stating that in the field of executive agencies, more than 111 thousand public engine rooms and about 50 percent of the engine rooms of government agencies have been optimized, Tavakoli said: The installation of 100 thousand smart controls of engine room systems is on the agenda. In line with that, tariff reform has also been defined as a comprehensive package so that government agencies first have a correct consumption pattern.
Pointing out that the National Iranian Gas Company, as the third largest gas producer in the world, is also one of the most energy-intensive countries, he added: “Although the average share of the domestic sector is lower than that of power plants and industries in the country, it puts the greatest pressure on the country’s gas network during peak consumption periods. If savings are made in this sector, it will be possible to direct excess gas to industries and petrochemicals, which will help the country’s economic growth.”
