The supervisor of the National Iranian Oil Company's South Oilfields Projects for Increasing Recovery announced the successful implementation of the pilot water injection project in the Ilam reservoir of the Ahvaz field.

The Minister of Energy announced that the 35 percent water waste figure is not accurate and that leak-proofing measures have resulted in a significant reduction.

The project manager for conceptual and basic studies on supplying water for injection into the oil reservoirs of the Karun basin said: The plan for supplying and transferring water for injection into the oil fields of West Karun was approved at the provincial level.

The project manager of Isfahan Oil Refining Company announced the company's long-term commitment to reducing water consumption by implementing a plan to recover ultra-saline water, and said: "The plan to install a "CCRO" package on the return path of the waste water from the Hero unit of Isfahan Oil Refining Company is underway."

The Ministry of Energy's new plan to implement a crisis water tariff by charging the cost of supplying water from consumers above the model was not approved by the Cabinet for approval and notification and has been canceled for now.

Following the intensification of the water crisis this year, Tehran Oil Refining Company, by implementing one of its most important environmental projects, succeeded in reducing the capital's daily water consumption by 20,000 cubic meters.

Tehran Province's Water and Sanitation Authority has announced that the droughts of the last five years and the decrease in rainfall in Tehran Province in the current water year, which is unprecedented in the last 60 years, have severely affected Tehran's water resources.

Referring to the start of the flood and the arrival of sea water to Isfahan, the spokesperson for the country's water industry said: "The first phase of transferring water from the sea to Isfahan has been completed; in this phase, which has the potential to increase to 70 million cubic meters per year, 40 million cubic meters of water will be made available to industries."

An official said: "Based on available statistics and information, the total rainfall as of June 16 was 143 millimeters, which should have reached 239 millimeters, which represents a 40 percent decrease in rainfall."

The amount of water reserves in dams on the 10th of Khordad 1403 (1924) exceeded 35 billion cubic meters, which, when compared to the current volume of water reserves in dams, indicates a 24% decrease in the country's dam water reserves.
