Despite widespread blackouts in many cities across the country, shocking statistics have been released stating that 60 percent of power plant fuel is wasted. This is while our country is facing a severe energy shortage. But why is a huge amount of fuel being wasted despite all this shortage?
The secretary of the Electricity Industry Syndicate stated that the efficiency of the country's power plants in the best conditions is around 40 percent, adding: "In other words, 60 percent of the power plant fuel is wasted."
The Minister of Energy said: "Currently, the amount of fuel delivered to power plants has increased, and it can be said that the fuel imbalance of power plants has improved."

Following the recent blackouts, the government announced the main reason for the power outage was the challenge in supplying liquid fuel to the power plants, early cold and the stoppage of fuel oil burning, but some officials of the previous government claimed that the main reason was a sharp decrease in diesel reserves. This is while the statistics show that in the last months of its activity, despite the reduction of liquid fuel reserves, the previous government has suspiciously exported diesel on a large scale.
