A fire has broken out in a storage tank for petroleum products at the Naftkan oil depot, and efforts to extinguish and contain the fire have begun. A fuel tank in southern Tehran was also hit by a projectile.

A judicial official announced the seizure of two vessels carrying smuggled fuel in the waters of the Persian Gulf.

The advisor to the CEO of the National Iranian Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company reported that $6 to $8 billion of the country's resources are wasted annually due to fuel smuggling, saying: "We must have a national perspective in fuel allocation, while the relevant agencies have a sectoral perspective."

A pilot plan to transfer fuel quotas from fuel cards to bank cards was launched yesterday; the plan was initially implemented on a limited, pilot basis at one of the gas stations and is set to be gradually expanded after a thorough review of possible issues.

The head of the judiciary said: "It is absolutely unacceptable that the country is in dire need of fuel, and then it is announced that $15 billion or even more worth of gasoline and diesel are being smuggled into the country!"

The CEO of the National Petroleum Products Distribution Company announced the beginning of the process of transferring fuel quotas from smart fuel cards to personal bank cards and said: "According to the 1404 budget law, this plan must be implemented by the end of July."

The Chief Justice of Tehran Province said: "The court's decision ordered financial tracking in fuel smuggling cases. The necessary measures are currently being taken to conduct financial tracking, and reports indicate that artificial intelligence platforms are being used to conduct financial tracking."

The CEO of the National Iranian Petroleum Products Distribution Company announced a 36% increase in the delivery of power plant fuel (oil, gas, and furnace oil) in the first 33 days of this year (April 1 to May 2) compared to the same period last year.

The head of the Faraj Traffic Police announced that in the Nowruz 1404 project, the historical record of fuel consumption was broken with 164 million liters on March 19, and traffic also increased by 5.5 percent compared to last year.

The head of the Iranian Aviation Refueling Department announced the consumption of more than 1.5 billion liters of aviation fuel in 1403, saying: "This figure has increased by about 100 million liters compared to the same period in 1402."
