The Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that we have always emphasized bilateral talks with Kuwait to reach a fair and lasting agreement and understanding regarding the Arash gas field, adding: "Based on historical rights and the history of negotiations, we do not accept unilateral claims about this field under any circumstances."
Following repeated claims by Saudi Arabia and Kuwait regarding ownership of the Arash gas field, an international expert emphasized that the historical and legal background of the field is beyond doubt and that the best solution to end the disputes is to refer to impartial international experts and arbitrators.
Energy expert Hedayatollah Khademi warned about the situation of the joint Arash oil field, saying that relying solely on diplomacy cannot protect Iran's interests, and that practical and technical measures in this field need to be initiated simultaneously with negotiations.
