Suspicious fires on three oil tankers near the Strait of Hormuz; Is Israel involved?

According to Energy Press and the official website of the Indian news network (Republic World), reports on social media and satellite data indicate that three ships may have caught fire near the Strait of Hormuz, adjacent to Iranian waters. However, there has been no official confirmation from governments or international maritime bodies.
Fire on a ship near Khor Fakkan
According to reports, a fire was reported on a ship in the Gulf of Oman, about 22 nautical miles off the coast of Khor Fakkan in the United Arab Emirates, on Tuesday. Satellite and maritime sources say that the incident occurred amid rising tensions between Iran and Israel, but the exact cause of the fire is still unknown.
Ambrey confirms the incident
British maritime risk management company Ambrey has confirmed that it is aware of an “incident” involving a ship in the area. The company said the vessel was near Khor Fakkan, in UAE waters along the Gulf of Oman, a route that leads to the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Although the company did not provide further details, the confirmation adds credence to speculation and online reports that at least one ship was on fire in the area.
NASA satellite detects fire
Further concerns, NASA’s FIRMS (Fire Information for Resource Management System) system has recorded three active fire spots in the same area of the Gulf of Oman. The area is one of the world’s most sensitive oil shipping lanes, carrying more than 20 percent of the world’s oil supply.
