Successful completion of major repairs at Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical without stopping production

According to Energy Press, citing Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical, Omid Azmian, the company’s complex manager, said the goal of the overhaul operation was to increase equipment reliability, eliminate operational bottlenecks, and maintain production stability in the aromatic and paraxylene units, and said: The recent overhaul operation was carried out with precise and predetermined planning over a period of 20 days, spending more than 44,200 man-hours of intensive work, and without any incidents. He pointed out that for the first time, reactors 4002 and 4004, as the heart of the aromatic unit, underwent overhaul since the complex was launched in 2004, and added: “The failure of the internals and the occurrence of the catalyst escape phenomenon had caused a significant drop in efficiency, but these reactors were completely renovated with the support of domestic engineering capabilities and the cooperation of Iranian companies, and their performance is now at an optimal level.” The manager of the Bu Ali Sina Petrochemical Complex continued in explaining this process: In this operation, in addition to these two critical reactors, equipment such as reactor 3001, reactor 4003, plate heat exchanger area 400, spherical tank 4002, and a number of exchangers of operational units were also renovated and overhauled, and all steps were carried out in full compliance with safety, health, and environment (HSE) requirements, which is considered one of the most significant strengths of the project.
