Southern Oil Regions Company seeks to reduce gas flaring
The CEO of the National Southern Oilfields Company announced plans to reduce gas flaring by 200 million cubic feet per day this year.

According to Energy Press, citing the National Southern Oilfields Company, Ibrahim Paroun stated: “In addition to the company’s main mission in providing the country with sustainable energy, environmental responsibilities, especially in the areas of reducing pollution, combating desertification, and optimal utilization of natural resources, have always been of concern.” Stating that a comprehensive approach to development is a strategic principle in the plans of the Southern Oilfields, he added: “The daily reduction of 345 million cubic feet of gases sent to the flare last year was one of the company’s important achievements in the field of the environment, and this year, a target of reducing another 200 million cubic feet of gas flaring is on the agenda.”
