According to Energy Press, Touraj Dehghani, CEO of Pars Oil and Gas Company, announced the successful completion of the annual overhaul operations on 35 South Pars production platforms, stating that the main goal of implementing this program is to ensure the sustainability of gas production during peak consumption conditions and increase the reliability of the offshore facilities of this joint field during the cold seasons.
Emphasizing the vital role of this huge field in the country’s energy supply, he added: “The South Pars joint field, as the main pillar of Iran’s gas supply, supplies more than 70 percent of the gas needed by the country’s domestic, power plant, industrial and commercial sectors, and the sustainability of production in this field directly affects national energy security.”
Dehghani, referring to Pars Oil and Gas Company’s complete readiness to enter the cold season, stated: “The major repairs of the company’s offshore platforms were carried out in a period of 6 months from the beginning of May to the end of October this year.
