South Pars First Refinery’s gas production capacity increased
The director of the first refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex announced specialized measures and important projects to maintain gas quality and increase production capacity.

According to Energy Press, citing South Pars Gas Complex Company, Ali Ahmadi, referring to the implementation of specialized projects and extensive measures in the fields of process engineering, electrical repairs and construction projects in order to maintain gas quality and increase production capacity, stated: The first refinery, by focusing on improving infrastructure and updating equipment, has been able to maintain production stability and output gas quality and increase production capacity.
He announced the annual replacement of molecular sieves in mercaptanization units and the installation of analyzers on the gas transmission route to Pars Petrochemical and added: These measures were carried out in order to accurately and continuously monitor gas quality and prevent quality decline. Also, partial discharge tests (Pd Test) were carried out on about 300 high-voltage cable strands and identification and replacement of more than 100 defective cable heads were carried out to prevent connection and disruption in stable gas production.
The manager of the first refinery of the South Pars Gas Complex stated that the redesign and replacement of the exchanger and absorption tower trays in the Edurant unit are among the prominent projects this year that have played an important role in increasing the capacity and sustainability of the production process. He added: “Also, the implementation of the flaring reduction project in order to increase gas sales is underway in cooperation with a domestic company, and its positive results are expected.”
