Saving water with advanced technology; Isfahan refinery’s green step in the midst of crisis

According to Energy Press, quoting Isfahan Oil Refining Company, Alireza Nazaripour stated regarding the implementation of the project to install a “CCRO” package (high concentration reverse osmosis system) on the return path of the waste water of the Hero unit (HERO): “Given the water crisis conditions in the country and the region and saving water consumption in Isfahan Oil Refining Company, this company has turned to the most advanced and up-to-date technologies in the world’s water purification industry.” He pointed out that the plan to recover ultra-saline water in 1401 was placed on the agenda of Isfahan Oil Refining Company in line with saving water consumption, maximum recovery of waste water, and minimizing water sent to evaporation ponds, and added: In the Hero unit, after removing part of the hardness and silica in the water by the ultra-filtration system, the water enters the RO unit and the bulk of this water is recovered and disposed of in the CCRO unit, so that the highest amount of water recovery (about 85 percent) can be achieved through membrane systems.
