Refueling is now possible with a bank account

According to Energy Press, Mohammad Sadegh Azimifar, CEO of the National Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company, said at the signing ceremony of the contract for the trial implementation of transferring gasoline quota from fuel cards to the bank accounts of car owners, which was held this afternoon, Tuesday, in the presence of Musa Ahmadi, Chairman of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, Mohsen Hormozi, Deputy Minister of Transportation of Tehran Municipality, and Morteza Fathollahzadeh, CEO of the Kowsar Center for Innovation and Excellence of Tehran University, in the parliamentary reporters’ stand: The National Petroleum Refining and Distribution Company, as the custodian of the supply and distribution of petroleum products in the country, is implementing a series of measures to eliminate existing imbalances and manage consumption, most of which are explicit legal obligations, and the legislator has assigned the oil company certain tasks with full knowledge of the issue. He added: One of the fundamental and key measures that has been neglected for many years is the issue of updating the country’s refueling infrastructure. The smart fuel card system was implemented in the country in 2007, and fueling in the transportation sector has been carried out based on smart fuel cards and related infrastructure until today. This system has numerous issues and challenges from a hardware and software perspective, and despite the fact that fortunately it has provided good service to the people during the years of operation, it needs to be updated. This system needs to be upgraded from a defense perspective as well as from a consumption monitoring and management perspective.
