Record-breaking gas consumption in power plants; 312 million cubic meters recorded in one day

According to Energy Press, according to the Ministry of Oil, a review of natural gas consumption in the period from 11 to 17 August 2025 in three main sectors shows that the country’s power plants, with a total consumption of more than 2 billion and 158 million cubic meters, once again topped the list of gas consumers.
After power plants, the domestic, commercial and small industries sectors were next with a consumption of about 1 billion and 102 million cubic meters, and major industries with a consumption of more than 1 billion and 73 million cubic meters.
Saturday, 11 August: Power plants received 305 million and 750 thousand cubic meters of gas. On the same day, the consumption of major industries was recorded at 151 million and 520 thousand cubic meters, and the domestic, commercial and small industries sectors were recorded at 161 million and 270 thousand cubic meters. The total gas consumption of these three sectors on this day reached 618 million and 540 thousand cubic meters.
Sunday, 12 August: Power plants’ gas consumption reached 308 million and 240 thousand cubic meters. Major industries received 152 million 930 thousand cubic meters of gas, and the domestic, commercial and minor industries received 158 million 750 thousand cubic meters, bringing the total gas delivered to the three sectors to 619 million 920 thousand cubic meters.
Monday, August 13: Power plants consumed 312 million cubic meters, major industries 152 million 140 thousand cubic meters, and the domestic, commercial and minor industries 156 million 90 thousand cubic meters of gas. The total consumption of the three sectors on this day reached 620 million 230 thousand cubic meters.
Tuesday, August 14: Power plants’ gas consumption was recorded at 309 million 230 thousand cubic meters, major industries 151 million 370 thousand cubic meters, and the domestic, commercial and minor industries 161 million 350 thousand cubic meters. The total gas consumption on this day reached 621 million 950 thousand cubic meters.
