Production of 13.5 million tons of wheat in Iran

According to Energy Press, Sohrab Sohrabi from the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture added: Necessary arrangements have been made with the Iranian State Trading Company and the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture, and more than 1,100 guaranteed shopping centers are ready to deliver wheat to farmers.
He stated that the amount of guaranteed purchase of wheat in the last crop year was 10,400,000 tons and stated: With this process, we will achieve sustainable wheat self-sufficiency in a two-to-three-year plan.
Sohrabi added: the country’s annual wheat requirement is 12 million tons.
Regarding wheat harvest in the current crop year, he said: The harvest of the first golden clusters of wheat began on the 7th, 8th and 9th of Farvardin in Hormozgan, Sistan and Baluchistan provinces and south of Kerman and continues.
Sohrabi stated that wheat harvesting operations have already started in provinces such as Sistan and Baluchistan, Hormozgan, Bushehr, south of Kerman, south of Fars province, Ilam and Khuzestan and the harvesting of this crop in the country will continue until the end of September.
Pointing out that more than 21,000 combine harvesters are ready to provide services to farmers, he said: Farmers should use harvesters that have been technically inspected and have less shedding, and should not harvest wheat at night.
In the meantime, the implementer of the wheat plan of the Ministry of Jihad and Agriculture asked the farmers to refer to the agricultural service centers and herbal medicine clinics and fight according to the instructions due to the continued rains and the increase in wheat diseases and pests such as yellow rust and powdery mildew.
He recommended that the irrigation of fields in irrigated lands should also be done according to the instructions and at times appropriate to the increase in temperature and dryness.
