Power plant units were put on standby

Power plant units were put on standby
The CEO of the thermal power company stated that 6,000 personnel are on standby 24 hours a day in the power plant units and added: 48 power plant units have been built in the country in the last three years.

According to Energy Press, “Abdul Rasool Peshahang” said about the performance of the country’s electricity industry in the field of production: Although in the 70s and 80s I had 60% growth in the electricity industry and 23% in the 90s, due to the lack of production growth in the 90s. A blackout occurred in the summer of 1400 and a blackout of 20,000 megawatts occurred in the electricity industry.

He continued: To compensate for this discrepancy, the construction of 20,000 megawatts of thermal power plant capacity was put on the agenda, of which 9,000 megawatts have already been put into operation, and another 9,000 megawatts are being developed and implemented.

In this regard, the CEO of Thermal Power Company explained: Out of these 9,000 megawatts that were put into operation, 2,000 megawatts are related to the upgrading of existing power plants, which resulted in saving 24,000 billion tomans in the construction of a new power plant unit. That is, if we wanted to build a 2,000 megawatt power plant, we would have to spend 24,000 billion tomans and add such a capacity to the country’s capacity.

Repairing 300,000 power plant units in the last three years

He continued: While our electricity production capacity is about 60,000 megawatts, in the last three years, 300,000 megawatts of power plant capacity was repaired. It may come to mind how 60,000 megawatts, nearly 100,000 megawatts, have been repaired every year. The reason is that some units were repaired twice a year due to heavy operation.
