Possibility of forming a joint consortium to develop the Kish gas field

According to Energy Press, citing the public relations of the Persian Gulf Oil and Gas Industry Forward Company, the company’s annual general meeting was held with the presence of shareholders, Rahimian Sarai, the group’s general affairs manager, and chaired by Mahmoud Rezaei, the group’s head of financial management.
In this meeting, Alireza Babazadeh explained the achievements of the Persian Gulf Oil and Gas Industry Forward Company in 1403 and said: Despite the company’s recent establishment, three active projects in the field of oil and gas field development are currently underway, and all of their study phases have progressed according to plan. These projects include the development of the Maroon fields (Khami reservoir), Ahvaz (Fahlian reservoir), and the Kish gas field.
The CEO of the Persian Gulf Oil and Gas Industry Advancement Company stated: Maroon and Ahvaz fields are hard HPHT fields and will provide sustainable feedstock for various petrochemical units located in Mahshahr, and in the Kish gas field, due to its special and strategic conditions, it is likely that a consortium with the Mostazafan Foundation will be considered.
He further emphasized the key role of this company in the upstream oil and gas sector, including participation in field development projects to provide sustainable feedstock for large petrochemical production units.
Babazadeh added: Failure to accelerate investment in upstream projects will result in the loss of profits for the petrochemical production company affiliated with the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Group, as the empty production capacity in the holding’s petrochemical units in units such as Bandar Imam, Ilam, Bu Ali, and Bid Boland due to insufficient supply from upstream has resulted in the loss of several thousand billion dirhams in profits, which clearly shows the importance of the Persian Gulf Holding’s entry into upstream development.
