Polymers have replaced steel and wood in engineering industries
At the opening ceremony of the 19th Iran Plast, the CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company pointed out the status and importance of the petrochemical and polymer industries and said: Petrochemical products, especially polymers, play a key role in various industries and have a pervasive presence in our daily lives.

According to Energy Press, Hassan Abbaszadeh, CEO of the National Petrochemical Industries Company, pointed out the position and importance of the petrochemical and polymer industries at the opening ceremony of the 19th Iran Plast, saying: Petrochemical products, especially polymers, play a key role in various industries and have a pervasive presence in our daily lives. Due to their unique characteristics, these products have become a suitable alternative to materials such as steel and wood in engineering industries, especially automotive, construction, and household products.
He added: Polymer products have replaced traditional materials in many industries due to their favorable physical and chemical properties. These high-value-added products are obtained from the polymer production chain and are offered in a diverse price range (from $300 to more than $1,000 per ton). This price diversity indicates the breadth of their applications and economic importance.
Abbaszadeh stated: “The polymer industry is expanding rapidly due to technological advances, including the development of catalysts and polymer compounds. These innovations have made it possible to produce products that were previously difficult or impossible to produce. For example, some compounds have replaced products that were time-consuming and expensive to produce, while offering similar or even better physical properties.”
