Petrochemical production capacity reaches 100 million tons; $5.5 billion in foreign exchange earnings

According to Energy Press, Saeed Baghbani, regarding the latest production status of the petrochemical industry in 1404, stated that the performance of this industry, despite the 12-day imposed war, was no different from last year and was defensible. He stated: About 32 million tons of products have been produced in this industry since the beginning of this year, earning $5.5 billion in foreign exchange income. Also, based on 19 projects in the exploitation plan for this year, of which 6 have been completed, the production capacity of the petrochemical industry will reach more than 100 million tons.
Regarding the plans of the National Petrochemical Company to activate 22 percent of the empty production capacity in the petrochemical industry, he stated: About 22 million tons of the installed capacity of the industry were not used in 1403, of which about 70 percent was due to a shortage of feed. If the petrochemical industry can solve the problem of feed supply, it will be able to use a significant part of the empty capacity. In addition, solving equipment and process problems and production stability are also effective in activating production capacity.
Sustainable Feedstock Supply Solutions
The Director of Production Control at the National Petrochemical Company considered participation in the development of upstream fields, collection of flare gases, and optimization of fuel consumption as solutions to address the challenge of supplying feedstock to the petrochemical industry, and stated: Regarding the presence of petrochemicals in the development of upstream fields, the contract between Bakhtar Petrochemical and Petrofarhang in the upstream fields has been signed and will be implemented in the coming days. Also, desirable measures are being taken by petrochemicals in the flare gas collection sector. For example, the Persian Gulf Bidblond Gas Refining Company has collected 94 million cubic feet per day from the flare gas site in the first phase.
