Paknejad: There is no document of the oil contract with Babak Zanjani

According to Energy Press, in response to a question about the transfer of oil for sale to individuals (Zanjani), the Minister of Oil explained: Who do you mean by individuals? I cannot mention the oil sales strategies as a rule, but we have a range of strategies and measures that we will use in accordance with any situation that arises.
Hearings from reliable economic and political circles have once again sounded the alarm regarding the way the country’s oil is sold. What is being heard these days is the repetition of worrying whispers about the possibility of reassigning the sale of black gold to Babak Zanjani.
These speculations have become so serious that it is claimed that the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council, realizing the sensitivity and potential risks of this issue, has provided the necessary warnings to the Ministry of Oil. The purpose of this explicit warning is to firmly prevent any transfer of oil shipments to individuals like Zanjani.
The increasing sensitivity of this issue is rooted in past experiences. The history of intermediaries such as Babak Zanjani’s involvement in sensitive oil cases in the country is clear evidence that such an approach has not only brought no benefit or added value to national interests, but has also had disastrous consequences, such as the loss of billions of dollars in national capital. The controversial and costly Babak Zanjani case, which ultimately led to his conviction and imprisonment, is still a burning issue in the country’s economy.
In the current situation, when the country needs transparency and protection of its vital resources more than ever, returning to the inefficient and risky patterns of the past could cause irreparable damage to public trust and the national economy.
Nowhere is it mentioned that Niko Zanjani Company is a party to the contract
In this regard, Mohsen Paknejad reacted to some news published in this regard.
In response to the question whether the Iranian Oil Trading Company (NICO) had sold oil to Zanjani, he said: When we want to sell a shipment, it is based on a contract that has a seller and a buyer; the report I received from the NICO and Iranian Oil Company did not mention anywhere that Mr. Babak Zanjani was the contracting party.
Paknejad did not explain whether Zanjani not being a contracting party means that another person received oil from him or not?
I did not see the Shoam resolution
He continued, regarding the letter from the Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council to the Ministry of Oil to prevent further oil sales to Zanjani: Who said that? I have not seen such a resolution.
We have a range of solutions for selling oil that I cannot mention
In response to a question about assigning oil for sale to individuals, the Oil Minister explained: Who does individuals mean? I cannot mention the oil sales strategies, as a rule, but we have a range of strategies and measures that we will use in accordance with any situation that arises. Paknejad also reminded the Ministry of Oil about Zanjani’s debts: This issue was raised 10 to 12 years ago. In recent years, he has placed some of his debts at the disposal of the Ministry of Oil in the form of assets he had, another part is undergoing the settlement process, and another part has been finalized. What determines whether he paid his debts or not is the judiciary, and we obey the ruling of the judicial system.
