One million liters of smuggled fuel discovered in Tehran and Rey

According to Energy Press, the press conference of Asghar Jahangir, spokesman for the judiciary, began today, Tuesday (December 15), with the presence of reporters from various media outlets.
Jahangir, explaining the activities of the Tehran province judiciary in combating fuel smuggling, said: According to the report of the bailiffs, an organized network had taken action to remove fuel from the supply, production and consumption cycle in the country and had stored these fuels in about 150 locations in Rey County. Accordingly, a case was filed in the Rey County Prosecutor’s Office, and in a wide-ranging operation, 93 locations in different regions of Tehran Province, including the locations of smuggled fuel depots and the places where smugglers’ documents and records were kept, as well as their equipment and tools, were inspected and seized. In this major operation, 10 oil product storage centers that played an active role in fuel smuggling were identified and seized.
He added: In the first stage, about 400,000 liters of various oil products were discovered, seized and delivered to the Oil Products Company. In this operation, 67 people were arrested and 41 of them were charged. In the continuation of the investigation, 67 vehicles carrying diesel and 93 warehouses and depots of smuggled fuel were identified and seized, and the discoveries of this stage were 600 thousand liters. Also, 13 of the defendants who were among the main leaders of these groups were identified and arrested, and appropriate orders have been issued for 28 of the defendants.
The spokesperson for the judiciary reminded: After completing the investigation, one of the 8 open cases in Branch 6 of the Rey County Investigation Department was investigated under the title of disrupting the economic system and an indictment was issued. This case has been transferred to the Special Complex for Investigating Economic Crimes in Tehran for investigation, which is currently under investigation. Two other cases were also filed and investigated in this regard at the Pakdasht County Prosecutor’s Office. An indictment has been issued for these cases and sent to the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Varamin County, which was sent to the First Branch of the Special Court for Economic Crimes in Tehran with a ruling of incompetence.
