Oil Minister: We will announce the increase in pressure in the South Pars gas field by the end of this year

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Paknejad stated that the necessary preparations in the study sections of the South Pars pressure boosting project have been followed by my colleagues at the National Iranian Oil Company, and stated: It seems that we will have good news for the people before the end of this year for the finalization of some of these contracts.
Stating that in the last two months we have put an increase in crude oil and gas production on the agenda, he said: The National Iranian Oil Company has succeeded in increasing the capacity of crude gas production from the country’s gas fields by more than 28 million cubic meters, and with the measures taken, an increase in production in the crude oil sector has also been achieved.
The pressure drop in the South Pars reservoir is one of the major concerns of the oil industry and the country. This issue is so serious that experts have repeatedly warned about the pressure drop in the South Pars reservoir. In a report titled “Strategic Issues in the Energy Sector in the Seventh Development Document – Gas Storage,” the Majlis Research Center addressed the unfavorable state of the country’s gas balance and predicted that if the current trend continues, the maximum difference in gas consumption in the hot and cold seasons in 1410 and 1420 will reach 453 and 579 million cubic meters per day, respectively, which will pose a serious challenge to the supply of gas in the cold season of the year.
