Oil Minister: Targeted research is a condition for maintaining Iran’s position in the global oil industry

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Paknejad’s message on the occasion of Research and Technology Week reads:
“Dear colleagues, researchers, scientists and technologists of the oil industry;
I sincerely congratulate all of you on the arrival of the National Research and Technology Week, which is a manifestation of the will of Iranians to build a better future.
The Research and Technology Week is a valuable opportunity to review and reflect on the vital role of “useful science” and “applied research” in the path of elevating the oil industry as the driver of the national economy. In a world where its power equations are based more than ever on “knowledge” and “new technologies”, the Iranian oil industry also needs to transition from traditional approaches to the development of targeted research and transformative technologies in order to maintain its position and ensure the sustainability and growth of this vital industry.
This year, in the meeting of the esteemed delegation of ministers with the Supreme Leader, which was held on the occasion of Government Week, His Highness emphasized the improvement of oil and gas production methods and tools, as well as the use of elite, educated youth in this field. Subsequently, the “Working Group for Improving Oil and Gas Production Technologies” was formed with the presence of a group of executive managers, university professors, and some prominent experts in this field, so that innovations in this field can be connected to oil and gas production operations more quickly.
