Oil Minister: Supplying gas for domestic and commercial consumption is the ministry’s red line
According to Energy Press, Mohsen Paknejad told reporters: “Our demand for people to save on gas and other energy carriers does not mean not consuming them. In other words, if people can reduce the temperature of their home heating systems by one degree, they will play an effective role in eliminating part of the gas imbalance in the country.” Regarding the possibility of shortages and high prices of liquefied gas cylinders in the cold months this year, as in recent years, he stated: “As you know, the Ministry of Oil has designed a product request system (Sadaf) for the distribution of liquefied gas. People register in this system based on their needs. There are currently no restrictions on liquefied gas and I hope there will be no shortage in this regard.” Increasing gas prices for bad consumption The Minister of Oil emphasized regarding the way the National Iranian Gas Company monitors gas consumption in the country: “These monitoring measures are definitely being strictly enforced now.” According to the existing regulations, all gas consumers in the country are placed in 12 tiers, and the last two tiers are introduced as bad consumers. These consumers will definitely face higher amounts in their bills next month if they do not follow the consumption pattern, of course, I emphasize that this price increase will only apply to bad consumers and there will be no specific change in their tariffs in tiers one through ten.
