Oil Minister: Oil industry staff are with the system | Iran’s oil sales continue

According to Energy Press, Mohsen Pak-Nezad stated today (Wednesday, December 24th) on the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting regarding the recent anti-revolutionary calls and provocations by various sectors, “Our esteemed colleagues in different sectors of the oil industry are with the system. Of course, a part of the people have certain economic concerns, and their voices should be heard, and as responsible officials, we should do our best to resolve their issues.”
He further added, “What we have witnessed in recent days is not protest but rather destruction and chaos. People do not damage their own property or kill themselves, those who pose as protesters and have injured several people, are not from the people and are naturally involved in projects with roots outside the country.”
Regarding the latest situation with oil sales, the Oil Minister stated, “In this regard, to the extent that I can explain, the processes are continuing as usual. I sometimes do not get involved in the oil sales mechanism in the media or behind the podiums, perhaps because there are eavesdroppers outside this land who are seeking to harm the interests of the noble Iranian nation.”
Pak-Nezad continued, “In the field of oil sales, we have to do business with buyers. We may consider certain mechanisms to minimize the impact of limitations in this field, according to which buyers also take the necessary measures.
Regarding the term “trustee” that has become popular, he said, “These are not giant monsters without horns and tails. Trustees have been part of the oil sales process for years, so this phenomenon did not emerge in the last year. The Islamic Republic of Iran has been using this method to sell its oil for years.”
Rejecting the claim that trustees do not return the money from oil sales in the 14th government, the Oil Minister stated, “I will refrain from mentioning statistics, but it does not mean that these figures do not return to the country. I emphasize that the statement that ‘the money from oil sales does not return to the country’ is not reliable or referable. In any case, when the buyer takes delivery of the oil, guarantees are taken from them, so it is not the case that they go and cannot return the money guaranteed.” He added, “In the past 12-13 months that we have been following the oil sales process, we have not encountered such a model.”
