Modernizing the public transportation fleet plays a major role in resolving the gasoline imbalance
A member of the presiding board of the Energy Commission of the Islamic Consultative Assembly pointed out the role of worn-out vehicles in the imbalance of gasoline and air pollution and said: "Now is the time to take a more serious look at the issue of diversifying the fuel basket, scrapping worn-out vehicles, introducing electric vehicles, and optimizing consumption."

According to Energy Press, Abdolhossein Hemmati Sarapardeh referred to the issue of increased fuel consumption in worn-out vehicles and consequently increased air pollution, especially in the cold season when we are faced with weather inversions, and stated: Increasing energy production is a serious issue that must be addressed, and in addition to increasing production, attention must also be paid to optimizing consumption, because in the current situation we have no choice but to reduce fuel consumption, diversify the fuel portfolio, and retire worn-out vehicles. Stating that in the automotive sector, we must move towards producing vehicles with global standards, and that importing fuel-efficient vehicles should also be considered, he added: Fuel consumption must be reduced by creating a mechanism, and one of these methods is importing and producing fuel-efficient and even hybrid vehicles.
