Meet Mobin Energy Persian Gulf, one of the world’s largest centralized utilities

According to the Energy Press report, Mobin Energy Persian Gulf was established in 1998 and became fully operational in 2005. It operates in five separate sectors and its development plans have optimally covered all the utility needs of the region. The main goal of constructing this huge industrial complex was to save on investment and production costs and reduce the final price of energy consumed for complexes located in the region. Mobin Energy, with the exclusive nature of its services in the region, offers products and services only to domestic customers and does not export any products abroad. Mobin Energy Persian Gulf Company supplies its main customers from among the petrochemical complexes of the Pars Special Economic Zone in Assaluyeh. In phase one, companies such as Pars, Jam, Ariasasasol, Pardis, Zagros and Borzovieh benefit from the services of this company. Also, some Phase 2 complexes, such as Morvarid, Kavian, and Mehr, supply part of their utility needs through Mobin Energy.
The main tasks of this extensive industrial complex include the production and distribution of electricity and steam; the production and distribution of industrial gases such as oxygen, nitrogen, service air, and precision instrument air; the production and distribution of various types of water, including fresh water, demineralized water, service water, firefighting water, and cooling water; the reception and treatment of industrial and sanitary wastewater from regional petrochemical companies; the burning of liquid and solid waste in waste incinerators; and the reception of gas from the national grid, its pressure reduction, and distribution among petrochemical complexes.
In terms of ownership structure, this company was initially fully owned by the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, but in 2015, seven percent of its shares were listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange under the symbol “Mobin”. The current CEO of the company is Mohammad Hashem Najafi Ardakani, and the company operates with a workforce of 766 specialists in five separate divisions. In terms of financial performance, Mobin Energy recorded an operating income of 49,540 billion Tomans in 1403, of which 13,000 billion Tomans was realized as net profit. The company has long-term development plans and plans to diversify its product portfolio by 1408 and expand its activities by playing a more serious role in the stock market. Mobin Energy Persian Gulf not only acts as a key supporter of Iran’s petrochemical industry, but is also considered a model for centralized utilities globally.
